Timeline:

Start Time: 06/17/2025 9:00 AM PT

End Time: 06/17/2025 9:48 AM PT

Customer Impact:

Users interfacing with contacts in our web and mobile applications may have experienced slower than average loading times and intermittent error messages between 9:00am PT to 9:25am PT on June 17, 2025. We received abnormally high traffic which caused a slowdown in our databases. There was no data loss during this time. Once this process concluded, load time returned to normal. We continued to monitor our systems operating until 9:48 PT, after which we considered the incident resolved.

Resolution:

The process invoking the influx of traffic concluded and application behavior returned to normal.

Future Improvements:

Yext Engineering has already updated the underlying infrastructure to ingest data more slowly into our system to reduce the volume of traffic at any given time, which will also allow all other requests to be processed normally while this specific workflow takes place. Additionally, we have modified how our database handles these requests to alleviate the congestion in our system.
